Motor-Free Sanctuary

Upper Kenai River Fishing

From Kenai Lake to Skilak Lake — 17 miles of glacially-fed, turquoise water flowing through Chugach National Forest. Motors are prohibited. Only drift boats access this section, making it the most pristine and uncrowded fishing corridor on the entire peninsula.

Trophy Rainbow Trout

The upper Kenai produces native Rainbows exceeding 30 inches year-round. Catch-and-release only. Fly fishing and light spinning gear produce consistently in the deep inside seams and behind spawning beds.

Dolly Varden Char

Dollies school in the tributary mouths and behind Sockeye staging areas all summer. Aggressive feeders on egg patterns and small spoons — a constant bonus species on every upper river float.

Late Sockeye Run

The famous late-run Sockeye push through the upper river corridor in July, with fish stacked in the deeper pools. Flipping technique produces limits during peak flow before they move into Skilak Lake.

The Drift Boat Experience

Our custom 20-foot Willie drift sleds are the only way in. No motors. No noise. Just the sound of oars, current, and eagles overhead. Your guide rows you precisely into holding water, positioning you for shot after shot at the upper river's exceptional trout population. This is Alaska as it was meant to be fished.
