Sockeye Salmon
★★★★★

Second run is building strong. Sonar counts at Kenai doubled from last week — this is the week to be on the water. Lower river between river mile 5 and 15 is absolutely stacked. Limits achievable in 3 hours.

Method: Flossing with pink/chartreuse flies; 8–12 lb leader
Best Window: 6am–10am tide window

King Salmon
★★★☆☆

Late run kings are starting to show. Numbers are below the 10-year average but fish size is excellent — we put a client on a 52-pounder Wednesday. Upper Kenai canyon is producing. King stamp required.

Method: Back-trolling Blue Fox #7; 40 lb leader
Best Window: Morning ebbs on incoming tide
🌈
Rainbow Trout
★★★★☆

Post-spawn trout are feeding aggressively on fresh sockeye eggs drifting downstream. We're seeing fish 22–28 inches in the mid-river sections. Water temp is ideal at 48°F. Best trout fishing we've had in July in years.

Method: Pink/orange bead pegged 2" off hook; 8 lb fluorocarbon
Best Window: Evening drift, 5pm–8pm
